We have a Family Resource in school, Miss Whitehead started with us in January.
She is here to help you and your family with any issue, whether school related or something at home, or anything in your own or your child’s personal life. These issues can be anything related to parenting such as toilet training, behaviour, sleep (She is a trained sleep practitioner), emotional health or even financial worries. It could be a worry you have about your own child and their development or could be any other stresses you would like support with and don’t know where to turn. Miss Whitehead has many years of experience of working with children and families so she's more than happy to chat with you to see if you can change things together, however she may not have all the answers, so if there’s anything she doesn't know how to help with Miss Whitehead will certainly do her best to find someone who does! She can meet with you and/or your child, together or separately depending on the nature of the support you require. This could be a one off session or chat to help with something simple such as potty training or it could be a package of varying support both in and out the home. She may also be running some drop-ins and/or workshops in school around varying topics. Miss Whitehead is the worker in school that will support you and your family if you have support from other agencies such as Social Care, as she is one of the safeguarding leads. Sometimes we all need a little bit of help with family life and its ok to admit that and access support to benefit you and your children in the long term. Miss Whitehead is in the infants all day Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as Friday afternoons so if you would like to discuss anything with her, please speak to your child’s teacher and they will pass the message on to her, or you can pop into the school office, or call her on 01332 662695.
